Okay I admit there has been a lot of write ups about the beauty of Dubai, UAE but today I like to share my experience on the very first time I arrived at Dubai in the year 2010 for my Master Degree. I couldn’t afford Emirates ticket so I went for Ethiopian airline with a stopover at Addis Ababa which is not a bad airport too. While still in the sky as we are about landing at the early hour of the morning in Dubai I look through the window and I saw beautiful landscapes, well planned and all lighten up (the best ever seen). Dubai has the most beautiful airport I have ever seen which many foreigners even US citizens often agreed to.
It is amazing to know that Dubai transformation was just in a period of four decades and a city so many people tagged desert land with no future became a connecting hub for countries around the globe and one of the first to reckon with. Dubai is so rich with lovely structures, great roads and lovely road networks, superb infrastructure and so many sight attractions. Dubai is also known as world trade zone so much that visitors can’t leave without entering their major markets such as Deira, Bur Dubai and several malls.
Bottom line is that you must visit Dubai before you exit this world, however a pot of better soup will surely require some good cash. So budget well before embarking on such adventure. On the average for a light shopper approximately $1200 can give you a short vacation/trip to Dubai. And because of the various nationalities in Dubai, you are sure to find all kinds of food and cuisines all over the place.
As I round up I plead my country Nigeria to borrow some clues from Dubai, let’s dream big and turn our natural resources into tremendous asset the whole world will seek after daily. If Dubai can make something out of nothing then we can make great things out of something.
